Reef rocks are one of the biggest dangers to ships. they launch surprise attacks on sailors, ports and settlements, inflicting colossal damage with a whole cloud of arrows tipped with coral or bone with poison. It is not immediately fatal, but without treatment it leads to a very painful and gruesome death.
They grow corals on the lower tentacles for their hardness and strength, for more confident terrestrial movement. Their tentacles are still flexible muscular limbs, but the humanoids have slowly begun to acquire cartilaginous bones, and yet the “legs” need to be strengthened.
a number of breathing holes are located on the back, the Chest are breathing sacs that inflate and sway in time with breathing, and the mouth part is at the base of the tentacles.
