Artist Info
This is the final (Thank God) in a series of adoptables themed after carnival foods and cryptids. So let's not waste anytime and introduce Miriam Von Mothmäh - AKA the Mothwoman, or Mothmom, if you prefer.
Meet the owner of the mystical, mythical, otherworldly Cryptid Carnival, Miriam Von Mothmäh, the Mothwoman. Not to be confused with her infamous cousin, the mothman, Miriam demands to be seen! She also swears she was never in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, on the night of December 15th, 1967.
Miriam is a born entertainer. Bombastic, enchanting, and intensely charismatic, Miriam knows just how to draw a crowd, as well as hold their attention. Of course, for the really tough crowds that no spectacle or shock can please, Miriam is not above using the rapid vibration of her hypnotic wings to force an audience's eyes back on her. It's a great way to pacify an unruly mob, as well as erase the recent memory of any patron whose gaze remains transfixed on them for too long. Generally, a good, long, slack-jawed stare will wipe out someone's memories ranging up to the last 72 hours maximum. It's a skill that comes in very handy for dealing with those trying to 'expose' the carnival to the outside world. Of course, that tends to carry the side effect of nausea and extreme headaches to those forced to endure it.
Aside from her wings, Miriam also has the gift of being able to see dark premonitions. Granted, these are very broad, like with the rest of her species. The feeling generally manifests with a vibe and a desire to flock to the location of the impending disaster, an impulse Miriam has trained herself to suppress. Moreover, she's done her best to refine that future sight into a fun parlor trick during her performances. But to further amplify her skill, Miriam also picked up a special cane that allows her to see into the future of specific members of the audience with deadly precision. Emphasis on the deadly, as the 'Oracle Staff of Pernicious Premonition ' is drawn to revealing the fates of those who will meet a most tragic end, more than anything else.
This cane is the centerpiece of her collection of magical oddities and performers on display all over the fairgrounds. Designed to delight and tantalize the carnival patrons who end up sleepwalking through the scene. She's spent centuries building up such a splendid hoard of truly unique antiquities, and the carnival was her way to put them all to good use. (Aka show off, which she loves to do.) Although, while the other cryptids are considered part of that collection in an unofficial sense, Miriam isn't 'keeping' them there, nor does she see them as assets or objects.
Miriam sees the other members of the carnival as her extended family, all of them being like 'her children'. She's very maternal when it comes to protecting her 'girls', even more so than protecting the carnival itself, despite the amount of work she put into it. They helped her build the carnival and make it great together. While she is technically the boss, she sees them as more of a team of equals and will not make a decision without consulting all of them.
That said, she also tends to get a bit maternal with those she 'fancies' as well. The kind of people she'd love to keep and dote over for hours. Those whose aura shines like a lamp in the darkest night. With someone like that, her maternal attitude often blurs the line between pampering and pleasure in an oh so delightful way. So if she slips you that VIP ticker for a private performance, you'd only be doing yourself a major disservice by turning it down.
The winner of the auction will receive both character sheets for Miriam, her basic nude variant, as well as the 'Ringmatresses' Regalia' outfit sheet featured in the auction. Post payment, I will credit the new owner over the logo tag, and send them both sheets, high res and finalized. The auction will last for a week, starting at a modest 60 dollars, with an instant win at 250 USD. Also, because others have done so, if you want additional outfits made for the character, they cost an additional 20-25 USD, depending on complexity.
